Diary of Events

  • Entries close and must be received before 5:00pm on Wednesday 20th February 2008. LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. CLICK HERE to download the Artist Entry Form
  • All works to be delivered to the Crystal Theatre Portland on Wednesday 27th February 2008 between 8:15am and 11:00am. LATE DELIVERIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
  • Simon Reeve from Channel 7's Sunrise Show will be officially opening the Exhibition at 8:00pm Friday 29nd February 2008.
  • Exhibition closes Sunday 2nd March 2008 at 4:00pm.
  • People’s Choice Awards. Which will be drawn at 2pm Sunday 2nd March 2008 for overall and local art. Local artist representing postcodes 2790 2795 2847 2845.
  • Collection of unsold works Sunday 2nd March 2008 from 4:15pm to 5:30pm. THERE WILL BE NO LATE COLLECTIONS OR MONEY PICK-UP.

EXHIBITION DETAILS

Exhibitors, partners and friends are invited to attend the exhibition.

  • Friday 29th February 2008 7:00pm to 10:30pm. Official opening 8:30pm.
  • Saturday 1st March 2008 10:30am to 5:00pm.
  • Sunday 2nd March 2008 10:30am to 4:00pm.

Artist Entry Form Download

Conditions of Entry for 2008:

1. Art submitted must be the original work of the entrant and must be for sale. Prints are not acceptable.
2. Entries are limited to three paintings per person. Excepting miniatures which are allowed 3 to 1 normal size.
3. Each painting must be suitably finished and ready for immediate hanging.
4. No wet paintings allowed.
5. Details to be displayed on back of painting: Artist’s name, address, title of work and price.
6. The max. size of any painting including the frame, shall be 1.3 sq. m. Max. area allocated to any one artist will be 2.5 sq m. Excepting miniatures which must not exceed 10cm x 10cm painted surface (20cm x 20cm framed)

8. Paintings are to be delivered and despatched to and from the Crystal Theatre, Wolgan Street, Portland NSW at the expense of the artist. See Diary of events for dates.
9. The exhibitor is responsible for arranging insurance for transit to and from and during the exhibition. Whilst every precaution will be taken to ensure the security of the paintings, the Portland Art Purchase Society Inc. can accept no responsibility for damage to or loss of paintings arising out of entry or participation in the exhibition. Artists who place potential value on paintings exhibited, are advised to have their work insured
10. An entry fee of $3.00 for each painting submitted, must accompany the entry form. Please make Cheque or Money order payable to Portland Art Society Inc. 3 Miniatures are counted as one painting. CLICK HERE to download the Artist Entry Form
11. All entries will be seen by the Portland Art Purchase Society Selection Committee and advisor but will be exhibited at their discretion. A limited number of paintings can be hung. Judges decision final.
12. A commission fee of 20% will be charged on all works sold. Commission will be deducted from the sale price.
13. The committee reserves the right to reproduce works for publicity purposes in any medium.
14. This exhibition is not an art show and there is no associated prize money.
